Great Ocean Road III

On Sunday we started the drive back home with several stops along the way.

First we saw a waterfall- once again, I wish the picture did it justice.
We went on a hike through the rainforest at Mait's Rest. The trees were huge, some with large openings at the bottom. The boys loved climbing inside the trees.

The ground was very muddy, thankfully this rainforest had a wooden walkway.

We tried posing for a nice family pic, and this is what happened. (I think I like this better)

The boys checking out another huge tree.
We hopped back in the car and drove for a while, we saw gorgeous landscapes. There were a lot of farms in the area with cows and sheep.
Then we stopped at this beach, in Apollo Bay, for lunch. We meant to only spend a few minutes so we could go see more waterfalls, but we couldn't tear ourselves away.

The boys.
Playing with Daddy on the beach.
Rob and C just soaking in the scenery. We had such a nice day- it was in the mid- 60's and sunny. Warm for us New Englanders- cold for Australians.
Back in the car again to see the koalas in the forest before the sunset. I loved seeing these Kangaroo crossing signs.

The day was over, we stopped to get a few pics of the sunset.

We had an amazing weekend, we saw and petted animals we didn't even know existed. We walked through rainforests, and saw gorgeous ocean views. And both kids did great all weekend. Overall, we felt very lucky.

Thanks for checking on us!
